Star Belly Dancer extraordinaire Jill Collins will be performing at Khayyam on Wednesday, May 18th. 



Jill currently dances with Jillina's Sahlala Dance Company in L.A.  Jill's lifelong passion for dance compels her to continually seek out inspiration from her fellow artists, colleagues, and students. She began her career early, becoming the youngest member of TLS Modern Co. at age 14 in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. She attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she earned her BFA in Dance Education with a concentration in Modern Dance. While living in Philadelphia, Jill worked with many amazing artists such as the Martha Graham Company, Group Motion Dance Company, and Philadanco. In 2007, Jill joined the original LA Bellydance Troupe, "Jillina's Sahlala Dancers". Sahlala's international repertoire of dance styles has lead Jill to perform in numerous film, video and reality TV shows, as well as pageants, industry parties, showcases, night clubs and private events. She is also a part of the original cast of "Bellydance Evolution: Immortal Desires", a touring theatrical Middle Eastern music and dance show created by Jillina. In addition to Sahlala and Bellydance Evolution, Jill also performs as a featured soloist with Daurden Contemporary Dance Theater. Other credentials include: an Associates Degree from the Dance Masters of America Teachers Training Program, a Level V Certificate from the Cecchetti System of Ballet and a 2001 graduate from the PA Governor's School for the Arts. Jill's background in Dance History, Choreography, Kinesiology, Psychology, Nutrition and Music for Dancers combined with her extensive performing experience, has made her an in-demand teacher in the greater Los Angeles area.
